grandmother story - Wednesday, December 20, 2006

let me tell you all a story...

it all started 11 years ago, there was this boy who had only achieved a total of 146 of 300 PSLE points...he ended up in normal academic stream and the school that wasn't in his 6 choices.

throughout his high school life, his results was constantly on the edge of the border or under it...he didn't knew the need for studies...there's only one thing in mind all the time is to PLAY. on his 4th year was his N'level examination that if he were to passed, he would promote to his 5th year for O'level.

he could not be promoted, seeing all of his good frens left him for their 5th year. he chose to retain for another year on the same level, his results got even worse! he failed badly...he got nowhere to go...

as he don't want to entry army as such a young age, he attended informatics for dipolma in IT...the whole course lasted for a year...he didn't even submit any projects for his modules which equals FAIL, so eventually its a waste of money & time...

he enter army the following year...he met so many kinds of people in army, you named it you got it...towards the end of his army days, he see people making plans for their future...for example, ITE students who obtained good results are going to poly... poly students going to NUS, NTU, overseas uni... setting up their own business...

finally he got to realise whats the importance of studying and decided to give in his last shot. his parents given him the green light and he were to made a very important decision between staying back in Singapore or to leave for studies...cause he don't want to leave something so dearly and so much of a importance to him in SG.

he was convinced that someone would be there to welcome him when his back from studies... so he left for Perth for foundation studies as he got no qualifications... for 2 years, he was alone and cold...thinking of the person back in SG but sadly due to some miscommunication, they went separate ways...

finally he graduated in dipolma of business in human resource...and got a place in university of his choice. he didn't let his parents down...looking back the years, he couldn't believe he would be going to uni next year...he wants to share this piece of good news to all and this is all i got to tell...

i'm Ah Gu.

this is my story.
